Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Ms. Jones battled cancer in 2013, then she and her band released an album. They’ve been touring almost nonstop since.

Sylvie – Sylvie Simmons. Ms. Simmons is a well- regarded rock journalist, historian and author who evolved from writing about musicians to becoming one herself. Beautiful and inspiring.

In a World. Lake Bell writes, directs and stars. A sweet little film about finding your voice and living your dreams.

Amy Cuddy: Your body language shapes who you are. As Cuddy says, “fake it ’til you become it…”

Ze Frank: Are you human?

Tiny Desk Concerts. Wilco is a fav, but you can find lots of bands.

Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed. The best kind of advice columnist, the empathetic one… there’s also a new podcast!

The Answer to How is Yes by Peter Block.  The book that turned me onto thinking about what matters most.

Immunity to Change by Kegan and Lahey. A wonderfully pragmatic book on real change. Though it is about organizations, I highly recommend the change process in it for individual work, as well.

The Interrupters. This documentary rocked my world. Treating violence like a contagious disease? Wow.

“From producer/director Steve James and author-turned-producer Alex Kotlowitz, The Interrupters tells the moving and surprising story of three “violence interrupters” in Chicago who with bravado, humility and even humor try to protect their communities from the violence they once employed.”
